Other Young People Who Made a Difference

If many little people,
in many little places,
do many little things,
they can change the face of the Earth.

There are MANY young people who have made a difference in addition to those featured on Kate Dudding's third CD. The web site A mighty GIRL includes many biographies of girls who have made a difference.

Below are some outstanding young people that Kate has learned about. If you know of a young person who should be added to this collection, please send Kate an email including links to web sites describing the actions of that young person.

• For her 11th birthday, Kira Andreucci of Fitchburg, MA, asked for money to give less fortunate children nonperishable, nutritious food items for the weekend. This is now her fifth year working with four Fitchburg elementary schools helping hundreds of children to eat on weekends.
  
  
  
• Eight year old Khloe makes and delivers personal care bags to homeless women on the streets of Irvine, CA. Khloe feels that "every women should have a nice sturdy bag to put their stuff in."
  
  
  
• 17-year-old Cynthia Lam of Melbourne, Australia wants to help people living without access to clean water and electricity -- and this ingenious young inventor has developed a device that can purify water and generate electricity using only the power of the sun! She was one of the 2014 Google Science Fair’s 15 global finalists.
  
  
  
• 15-year-old Kenneth Shinozuka invented a device to help with his grandfather's Alzheimer's.
  
  
• 14-year-old Latrell McCockran risks his life to save disabled man and a dog from a burning building.
  
  
  
• Ann Makosinski, 16, invented a flashlight that could change the world.
  
  
  
• This Michigan middle school football team went behind their coaches’ backs to do something incredible.
  
  
  
• "Chocolate bar” means “awesome” to Dylan Siegel , the 6-year-old 1st grader who wrote this book to raise money towards the cure for his best friend Jonah's rare liver condition. So far, Dylan has raised over $200,000. "Helping my friend is the biggest chocolate bar." - Dylan
  
  
  
• Joshua Williams's foundation has donated 200 tons of food so far. He started donating when he was five. Now he's in middle school. Who knows how far his passion for helping feed people will take him?

• Nine year old Connor Long asked if he and his six year old brother Cayden could compete as a team in kid triathlons. Cayden has cerebral palsy and can neither walk nor talk. So Connor pulls Cayden in a bike trailer and a raft, and pushes him in a stroller. July 2012

• CeeCee Creech of Campbellsville, Kentucky loves to knit. After hearing about the tornado outbreak that devastated Joplin, Missouri, CeeCee wanted to do something to help. Using her talent, CeeCee went to work creating a special gift for those who lost so much in Joplin. After news spread, CeeCee's idea grew into a major fundraiser for the Red Cross.
